Checks before configuration

To verify if spaces are available in Birst:

  1. Login to Infor Ming.le as a user with the roles Birst-SystemAdministrator, LNBIRST-Consumer-Administrator and LNBIRST-Model-Administrator.
  2. Navigate to the App Menu and verify that you see the Birst icon.

If you do not see the Birst icon, check your user data:

    1. On the User Menu, navigate to User Management, search for the logged in user and go to the User Details.
    2. Verify that the Birst-SystemAdministrator role is listed on the Security Roles tab.

If you still do not see the Birst icon, check the application permissions:

    1. On the User Menu, navigate to Admin Settings and double-click on the Birst icon.
    2. Verify that the Birst-SystemAdministrator role is listed on the Permissions tab.
    3. If you do not see the icon in Admin Settings, then Birst has not been provisioned.
Note: To see the LN Analytics icon, users require the LNBIRST-User role. The MingleAdministrator and Infor-SystemAdministrator role also give access.
  3. Navigate to Birst in the App Menu and verify that spaces are available. If you do not see spaces, check your user data:
    1. On the User Menu, navigate to User Management, search for the logged in user and go to the User Details.
    2. Verify that the LNBIRST-Consumer-Administrator and LNBIRST-Model-Administrator roles are listed on the Security Roles tab. These roles give access to respectively Consumer and Model spaces.
Note: If you already had a user with mentioned roles before LN Analytics was (re)provisioned, you must push the role to Birst again. Do this by changing the user data and saving the data. This will push a SecurityUserMaster BOD for Infor Ming.le to Birst.

If you still do not see spaces, check the ION setup:

    1. Navigate to ION Desk in the App Menu.
    2. Navigate to Connect > Data Flows.
    3. Verify that the mingle_to_birst document flow is active and exchanges the SecurityUserMaster BOD from Infor Ming.le to Birst.
    4. Navigate to OneView.
    5. Search for the Document Name Sync.SecurityUserMaster. You can refine your search by specifying the Document ID from Message Content = IFS User GUID for your user. The IFS User GUID can be found on the User Menu, under User Management, in the User Details.
    6. Verify that Sync.SecurityUserMaster was routed to Birst on a date/time after Birst was (re)provisioned.
  4. Check if these JSON messages that are crucial to the table sharing logic in LN Analytics, have reached the Data Lake:
    • LN_ttdpm510
    • LN_ttdpm515
    • LN_ttaad420

You can verify if the messages reached the Data Lake through One View in ION Desk.

    1. Navigate to ION Desk in the App Menu.
    2. Navigate to OneView.
    3. Search for Document Name LN_ttdpm510, LN_ttdpm515, LN_ttaad420.
Note: If no LN table is shared in the LN system, document LN_ttaad420 is not available in ION Desk.
