Data sets

Data sets define the LN tables and companies per package combination for which JSON messages are published. Data sets with tables that are used in Birst can be downloaded, imported and converted to runtime.

Do not remove tables from the LN data sets, because that will cause lack of data in Data Lake which cannot be retrieved by Birst for use in dimensions and facts. To add tables, create your own data set. See Extending content.

After an upgrade of the package combination in LN, the data sets are automatically converted to runtime. However, you must perform a convert to runtime when you add or remove companies to or from data sets, or change a data set. The provided LN Analytics data sets do not have companies specified as the company structure of the customer is unknown.

  1. From the Infor Support Portal, for the 2022.06 LN Analytics version, download 2022.06 Data Sets LN ANALYTICS.xml from KB article 2026400. Do not use a higher or lower data set version.
The downloaded data set file contains data sets for all LN Analytics products. You import all datasets, but only add companies to data sets for the LN Analytics products for which you are licensed and that you configure.
    LN Analytics Product Data sets
Infor LN Foundation for Birst (prerequisite for other products) LNA CONFORMED DIMENSIONS, LNA FOUNDATION, LNA TOOLS
Infor LN Program Cost Ledger LNA CONFORMED DIMENSIONS, LNA PROGRAM COST LEDGER, LNA TOOLS
Infor LN Quality Management LNA CONFORMED DIMENSIONS, LNA QUALITY MANAGEMENT, LNA TOOLS
Note: The description of the data sets contains the LN Analytics version.
  2. In LN, navigate to Tools > Integration Tools > Data Publishing Management > Data Sets to Publish to start the Data Sets to Publish (ttdpm5105m000) session.
  3. Select New View and specify the package combination in the Package Combination field.
  4. Select Import Data Sets on the Action menu. In the Import Data Sets form, browse to the downloaded LN Analytics data sets file. Ensure the Overwrite check box is selected and click Import. After the import, verify that the Publish Data check boxes are selected for each imported data set and for each table in the data set.
  5. Add companies to the data sets and select the Publish Data check box for each company.
    1. Data set LNA TOOLS - select only tools company 0000.
    2. Data sets LNA_CONFORMED_DIMENSIONS, LNA FOUNDATION, LNA PROGRAM COST LEDGER, LNA QUALITY MANAGEMENT - select all application companies that you want to analyze in Birst.
  6. Select all data sets and click Convert Runtime to convert the data sets to runtime. This sends the application table definitions (meta data) to Data Catalog and activates publishing in LN.
Note:
  • In LN Analytics, only the companies that are assigned to the LNA data sets are loaded. For example, if LN companies 100 and 200 are assigned to the LNA datasets and another non-LNA dataset has company 300 assigned, only company 100 and 200 are loaded in LN Analytics.
  • If table sharing is enabled and a master data company is available, ensure you include the master data company that the application companies use.
  • If you have installed an earlier version of LN Analytics, you may have these data sets available: LN CONFORMED METADATA, LN FINANCE, LN JOBSHOP, LN PROJECT, LN QUALITY, LN SALES, LN TOOLS. These data sets belong to older LN Analytics versions and must be deleted.
