Return certificate setup

Required setup

1. In the Inventory Handling Parameters (whinh0100m000) session, complete these steps:

   • Select the Return Certificates check box to implement the return certificate functionality.
   • In the Format of Return Certificate field, select the preferred format for the return certificate ID.
   • If you selected Series and Sequence in the Format of Return Certificate field, specify the number group and the series in the Number Group and the Series fields, respectively.
   • If you selected Warehouse, Fiscal Year and Sequence in the Format of Return Certificate field, see step 2.
   • In the Print Cost/Service Item on Return Certificate field, select the preferred option for printing cost items and service items on the return certificates.
   • In the Print Manufactured Item or Components on Return Certificates field, select the preferred option for printing manufactured items and component items on the return certificates.

2. In the Return Certificates - First Free Numbers (whinh3127m000) session, specify the warehouses for which the use of return certificates is required. These are the warehouses in which the goods returned by the customer are received.

   When a return certificate is generated for a receipt related to a warehouse specified in this session, the ID code of the return certificate is created in this way:

   • The warehouse ID code is displayed.
   • The fiscal year is displayed
   • The sequence number section of the return certificate ID is increased.

   The default fiscal year and the last date of the fiscal year are taken from the financial company of the warehouse specified in the Ship-to Code field.

Optional setup

1. In the Warehousing Settings by Site (whwmd2101m000) session, for the warehouses related to individual sites, adjust the settings in these fields:

   • Return Certificate
   • Reset Return Certificate
   • Print Cost/Service Item
   • Print Manufactured Item or Components
   • Series
   • Series for Return Certificates

2. In the Warehouses (whwmd2500m000) session, for individual warehouses, adjust the settings in these fields:

   • Return Certificate
   • Reset Return Certificate

Series

If the Format of Return Certificate field in the Inventory Handling Parameters (whinh0100m000) session is set to Series and Sequence, you must define the return-certificate number group and the series for the current company.

You can also define series for:

• Users in the Warehousing User Profiles (whwmd1140s000) session.
• Sites in the Warehousing Settings by Site (whwmd2101m000) session.
• Motives of transport in the Delivery Note/Return Certificate Series by Motive of Transport (whinh0130m000) session.

When a return certificate is generated, the series is retrieved from these sessions in this order:

1. Delivery Note/Return Certificate Series by Motive of Transport (whinh0130m000). If not present, see next step.
2. Warehousing User Profiles (whwmd1140s000). If not present, see next step.
3. Warehousing Settings by Site (whwmd2101m000). If not present, see next step.
4. Inventory Handling Parameters (whinh0100m000)
