Planning Attributes (tsspc0110m000)

Use this session to maintain the attributes used to group the following objects:

  • Service Order Activities
  • Work Order Activities
  • Planned Activities
  • Projects
  • Non-Conformance Reports
  • Corrective Action Plans
  • Job Shop Orders
  • Projects(PCS)

When the activities are loaded into group planning, the activities are grouped into groups and activity sets. The attributes specified in this session define how the imported activities are grouped into groups and activity sets. There are two kinds of attributes:

  • Parallel attributes: these attributes define how the imported activities are grouped into groups (groups are defined parallel in time). A maximum of 10 parallel attributes can be defined. The activities that have the same value for all of the specified parallel attributes are grouped together into the same group.
  • Sequential attributes: these attributes define how the imported activities are grouped into activity sets (activity sets within a group are defined sequential in time). A maximum of 10 sequential attributes can be defined. The activities that have the same value for all of the specified sequential attributes are grouped together into the same activity set.

Field Information

Activity Origin

The origin of the order activities to be grouped. This field defines the origin of the activities for which the attributes are used: service order activities, work order activities or planned activities. For each origin a different set of parallel and sequential attributes may be used.

Allowed values

Service Order
Work Order
Planned Activity
Project
Non-Conformance Report
Corrective Action Plan
Job Shop Order
Project (PCS)
Group Sequence

The sequence number. This number defines the sequence of an attribute. A new sequence number is generated when a new attribute is inserted.

Group Attribute

The attribute of an activity that is used to group the activity. Most attributes refer to a property of an activity or the related order header, e.g. attribute service area (property of an activity) or order number (property of the order header). However, attributes may also refer to properties that are assigned to an activity or order header, e.g. attribute skills (the skills that are assigned to an activity).

All activities with the same value for a given attribute are grouped into the same group (parallel attributes) or activity set (sequential attributes). Example: when service area is used as group attribute, all activities with the same service area are grouped into one group or activity set.

Note:
  • Two or more values may be defined for one attribute. Example: two or more engineers may be assigned to one service order. Only when the number and the values of all assigned engineers match an activity is assigned to a group or activity set.
  • Keep in mind only a subset of all available attributes is valid for each activity origin.

Group Method

The group method defines whether an attribute is used to assign an activity to a group or to an activity set. Parallel attributes are used to assign an activity to a group. Notice groups are defined parallel in time. Sequential attributes are used to assign an activity to an activity set. Notice activity sets within a group are defined sequential in time.

Allowed values

Parallel

The order activities are grouped into separate groups.

Sequential

The order activities are grouped into separate activity sets within the same group.

Used for Resource Allocation

If this check box is selected, LN considers planning attribute values to allocate resource to the group.

Display Type

The display type for the attribute. Each group and activity set is characterized by its attributes. The attributes of a group or activity set are displayed in a number of sessions (session ‘Groups’ (tsspc3100m000), session ‘Activity Sets’ (tsspc3110m000), etc.). An attribute can be recognized by its key or by its description. This field defines whether the key, the search key or the description of an attribute is displayed.
