Item Breakdowns (tscfg1110m000)

Use this session to maintain item breakdowns for a service item.

  • If the Functional Elements Active check box in the General Service Parameters (tsmdm0100m000) session is selected, you can use the functional element in item breakdowns.
  • The Level Up command is always disabled for the item that is displayed when you start this session, because a child item can have more than one parent item. Use the Item Breakdowns - Where-used Components (tscfg1510m100) session to display the item breakdowns on a higher level.
  • Use the View Tree command to view the item breakdown by means of the graphical browser framework.
  • You can create a physical breakdown from an item breakdown.

Field Information

Parent Item

The service item for which the item breakdown is defined. You can also use this item in other item breakdowns.

Description

The name or description of the parent item.

Position

The position number of the child item or child component in the breakdown.

Default value

  • Numbering
Slash Character

The sequence number in the breakdown level. The sequence number enables you to define more than one child item for each position and to log changes in the item breakdown.

Item

The item that is part of the parent item.

Note: The project segment of the item-code segmentation is not applicable in this session.

Description

The description or name of the child item.

Quantity

The quantity of this particular child item that is part of the parent item.

Note: The default value is one.
Quantity

The inventory unit of the child item that is defined in the Items (tcibd0501m000) session.

Description

The description or name of the functional element.

Functional Element

The functional element to which the item (component) in the item breakdown relates.

Note: You can only use funtional elements in item breakdowns if, in the General Service Parameters (tsmdm0100m000) session, the Functional Elements Active check box is selected.
Reference Designator

reference designator

Note:
  • If there are no reference designators on the BOM line for an item then only one item line is created in the Item Breakdowns (tscfg1110m000) session.
  • If there are reference designators on the BOM line then item lines are created for each {item, reference designator} pair in the Item Breakdowns (tscfg1110m000) session.

Example

  • If the Net Quantity field on the BOM line for an item is 4, then the maximum number of reference designators that can be related to the item are 4. In the Item Breakdowns (tscfg1110m000) session a line is created for each {item, reference designator} pair.
  • If you enter 2 in the Net Quantity field in the Bill of Material (tibom1110m000) session and enter only one reference designator in the Reference Designators by BOM (tibom0120m000) session, then 2 lines are created in the Item Breakdowns (tscfg1110m000) session, one line for the {item, reference designator} pair and one line for the item.

There is no one to one relation between Bill of Material and Item Breakdown because of the Net Quantity field in the Bill of Material (tibom1110m000) session and the Quantity fileld in the Reference Designators by BOM (tibom0120m000) session.

These BOM lines are copied into the Item Breakdowns (tscfg1110m000) session when you click the button Create in the Create Item Breakdown from Standard Production BOM (tscfg1210m200) session.

Description

The description or name of the code. This can be, for example, a code that expresses the location where you must mount a component item.

Structure Type

The type of physical breakdown structure defined for the item.

Allowed values

Physical

A physical item (such as material) in a configuration.

Structure

A large and/or complex installation in a configuration.

Note: This field is visible only if the Structure Type Usage check box is selected in the Configuration Management Parameters (tscfg0100m000).
Effective Time

The date on which the parent-child relation becomes active.

Execution Time

The date on which the parent-child relation expires.

Note: The Expiry time cannot be earlier than the Effective Time.
Text
Parent Item Picture

The picture of the parent item, defaulted from the Items (tcibd0501m000) session.

Note: If you access the details of a particular line, the picture of the child items that are part of the line is displayed in the Picture tab.
