Defaulting Pricing Method using a Fixed Price Master Routing

When a service order activity line, maintenance sales order part maintenance line or a quote line is created, a warranty and/or contract coverage can be applicable based on the configuration. In this case, by default, the Pricing Method is set to Time and Material, for enabling the coverage entitlement.

If a master routing, for which the Use Fixed Price check box and the Ignore Coverage check box are selected, is defined on:

  • A service order:
    • The Pricing Method of the service order is defaulted to Fixed Order Price.
    • The Price Origin of the service order is defaulted to Master Routing or Routing Option (when a fixed price routing option is defined).
    • The coverage contract or warranty (if existing) is overruled.
    • The related routing operations are copied to the related service order activities.
    • The Pricing Method of the related service order activities is defaulted to Fixed Order Price and the Price Origin set to Not Applicable.
  • A part maintenance line:
    • The Pricing Method of the part maintenance line is defaulted to Fixed Order Price.
    • The Price Origin of the part maintenance line is defaulted to Master Routing or Routing Option (when a fixed price routing option is defined).
    • The coverage contract or warranty (if existing) is overruled.
    • The related routing operations are copied to the related maintenance sales order activity lines.
    • The Pricing Method of the related maintenance sales order activity lines is defaulted to Fixed Order Price and the Price Origin set to Not Applicable.

If the Use Fixed Price check box is selected and the Ignore Coverage check box is cleared for the master routing defined on the part maintenance line:

  • The Pricing Method of the part maintenance line is defaulted to Time and Material and the Price Origin is set to Not Applicable.
  • The Pricing Method for the maintenance sales order activity lines created from the routing operations is defaulted with the Pricing Method set for the reference activity defined as routing operation.

When a contract or warranty is applicable for a part maintenance line and a master routing/routing option, for which a fixed price is defined but the Ignore Coverage check box is cleared, is linked to the part maintenance line, the Pricing Method of the line is defaulted to Time and Material. The Price Origin for the part maintenance line is set to Not Applicable.

The Pricing Method set for the reference activity defined as routing operation is defaulted for the activity lines created from the routing operations.

If the Use Fixed Price check box is selected and the Ignore Coverage check box is cleared for the master routing defined on a service order:

  • If warranty or contract coverage is applicable:
    • The Pricing Method on the service order is defaulted to Time and Material and the Price Origin to Not Applicable.
    • The Pricing Method on the service order activity lines created from the routing operations is defaulted to Time and Material and Price Origin to Not Applicable.
  • If no warranty or contract coverage is applicable:
    • The Pricing Method on the service order is defaulted to Fixed Order Price and the Price Origin to Master Routing or Routing Option (when a fixed price routing option is defined).
    • The Pricing Method on the service order activity lines created from the routing operations is defaulted to Fixed Order Price and Price Origin to Not Applicable.
