Blocking settings - Entities

There are situations when the conversion and the activation of the current Floor Stock solution is not possible. These are:

Items General

An error is generated when:

  • The Item Type is other than Product and/or Order system other than Manual or SIC for a Floor Stock item or Item defaults.
  • The Items and Item Defaults settings are not the same.
  • The Configurable, Customizable, Customized, With PCS, Subassembly, Serialized, Demand Pegging fields, Project Pegging fields, Unit Effective End Item, Unit Effective Supply, Revision Controlled, Subject to Trade Compliance, Critical Safety Item, Dimension Controlled and Restrict Commingling, and Transfers fields are present for a floor stock item.
  • The Item production settings and defaults are not limited on the company level.
  • The costing source for an Enterprise Unit in Item Costing records must adhere to the new restrictions for Floor Stock item. Item Costing defaults don’t specify a source, so no check is needed.
  • Routing exists for a floor stock item.

Items by Site

An error is generated when:

  • The Item is a Critical Safety Item.
  • The Default Supply Source is other than Purchase or Distribution for a Floor Stock item or Item defaults by Site. In case of External Site – Subcontractor Site, the Default Supply Source is set to Distribution.
  • Source by Date is present for the Floor Stock item.
  • Item Production Defaults by Site or Item Dimension Defaults by Site is present for Floor Stock item.
  • Sub entities such as Planning, Production, Dimensions are present for a Floor Stock item.
  • Job Shop Routing exists for a Floor Stock item.

Production Bill of Material

An error is generated when:

  • A Production Bill of Material exists for a Floor Stock item.
  • In the Production bill of material settings with a Floor Stock item (as material):

    Phantom is selected,

    Inherit Demand Peg is selected,

    Replace Item is specified,

    Alternatives Present exists,

    Scrap Percentage is not 0.0,

    Scrap Quantity is not 0.0,

    Allow Multiple items is selected,

    Net Quantity is negative

  • The Replace Item is a floor stock item.
  • Alternative materials are present for a Production Bill of Material line with a Floor Stock item.
  • The Generic bill of material exists for the Floor Stock item. In case of the material line with a Floor Stock item is material:
    • Scrap Percentage is not 0.0,
    • Scrap Quantity not 0.0,
    • Phantom is selected,
    • Lot Selection value is other than Any,
    • Supplied by Subcontractor is selected,
    • Net Quantity is negative.

Job Shop Bill Of Material

An error is generated when:

  • A job shop bill of material exists for a Floor Stock item.
  • In the Job shop bill of material settings with a Floor Stock item (as material):

    Customer Furnished Material is selected,

    Contains Customer Furnished Material is selected,

    Inherit Demand Peg is selected,

    Supplied by Subcontractor is selected,

    Phantom is selected,

    Lot Selection value is other than Any,

    Scrap Percentage <> 0.0,

    Scrap Quantity <> 0.0,

    Replace Items field is not blank,

    Allow Multiple items is selected,

    Net Quantity is negative

  • The Replace Item is a floor stock item for a line with a Normal Item (as material).
  • Alternatives Present is available for the Job Shop Bill of Material line.
  • A generic job shop bill of material exists for a Floor Stock item. Same restrictions apply as above for the material line, except for the check on:

    Customer Furnished Material

    Contains Customer Furnished Material

Repetitive

An error is generated when:

  • A Production Model exists for a Floor Stock item.
  • In the Production Model List of Material line with a floor stock item (as material):

    Point of usage is blank,

    Scrap Percentage <> 0.0,

    Backflush is selected,

    As-built is selected

Subcontracting

An error is generated when:

  • A Product Subcontracting Model exist for a Floor Stock item.
  • In the Product Subcontracting Model line with a floor stock item (as material):

    Scrap percentage is not 0,

    Inherit Demand Peg is selected,

    Lot Selection value is other than Any

  • A generic subcontracting model exist for a Floor Stock item. Same restrictions apply for the material line as above.

Generic Assembly BOM

An error is generated when:

  • The Generic Assembly BOM settings with a Floor Stock item (as material):

    -Replace Items is specified.

Assembly BOM and Operations

Main item is always an engineering module, which can never be a floor stock item.

And error is generated when:

  • The material is a floor stock item and Use Up Item is specified.
  • The Use Up Item is a floor stock item with a normal item as material.
