General exclude rule
Example
This example shows a general exclude rule that prevents users from combining region EMEA with project P01 - P10:
Rule | Line | Rule Type | From Ledger Account | To Ledger Account | From Cost Center | To Cost Center | From Project | To Project | From Region | To Region |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
A | 1 | Exclude | ZZZZZ | ZZZZ | P01 | P10 | EMEA | |||
B | 1 | Include | 45000 | 46000 | 100 | 110 | ZZZZ | ZZZZ | ||
C | 1 | Exclude | 50000 | 51000 | 100 | 200 | ZZZZ | ZZZZ |
If users specify ledger account 45000, cost center 100, project P05, and then tab to the next field, no error message will be displayed. If you leave From Region empty and try to tab to the next field, LN will display an error message. Nevertheless, users will be able to specify EMEA as To Region.
If users specify ledger account 50000 and cost center 200, LN will display an error message. To prevent error messages, specify ledger account 50000, cost center 300, project P01, and region LATAM.
