Margin Control Parameters (tdsls0120m000)

Use this session to record for each user which actions LN must carry out if the sales price for a line fails the margin check, or for a header/line fails the gross margin check.

LN only performs:

  • Margin checks if the Margin Control check box is selected in the Sales Order Parameters (tdsls0100s400) session.
  • Gross margin checks if the Gross Margin Check Headers check box and/or the Gross Margin Check Lines check box are selected in the Sales Order Parameters (tdsls0100s400) session.
Note: You can only use this session to modify the selected margin control parameter record. You cannot insert, duplicate, or delete records in this session. These functions can only be performed through the Sales User Profiles (tdsls0139m000) session. When the user profile is inserted or deleted, the margin control parameter record for that user is also created or deleted. As a result, a valid user profile record must exist before this session can be used.

Quotations and quotation linesDependent on the check boxes you select, LN can perform the following actions when the net price falls outside the margins:

  • Display a warning message.
  • Log the quotation (line) in the Sales Quotations below/above Allowed Margin (tdsls1118s000) session.

Sales orders and sales order linesDependent on the check boxes you select, LN can perform the following actions when the net price falls outside the margins:

  • Refuse the sales order (line).
  • Display a warning message.
  • Log the order (line) in the Sales Orders below/above Allowed Margin (tdsls4118s000) session.
  • Block the sales order (line).

LN takes the user's logon code as a default value.

Refuse

If this check box is selected, LN does not accept a price for a sales order line (after deduction of the discount), if that price falls below the minimum margin set.

Note: You can define the minimum margin in the Lower Margin field of the Items - Sales (tdisa0501m000) session.
Signal

If this check box is selected, LN displays a message if the price entered for a sales order line or quotation line (after deducting the discount) falls below the minimum margin set.

Log

If this check box is selected, LN logs the sales order line or quotation line in the Sales Orders below/above Allowed Margin (tdsls4118s000) session, or the Sales Quotations below/above Allowed Margin (tdsls1118s000) session, if the price entered (after deducting the discount) falls below the minimum margin set. You can use these sessions to trace the person responsible.

Block

If this check box is selected, LN blocks the entire sales order if the price of a specific sales order line (minus the discount) falls below the minimum margin set.

  • If the Block check box is selected, the Block (Line Only) check box is disabled and cleared.
  • You can define the minimum margin in the Lower Margin field of the Items - Sales (tdisa0501m000) session.
Block (Line Only)

If this check box is selected, LN only blocks the sales order line if the price entered (minus the discount) falls below the minimum margin set. The remainder of the order is allowed to proceed.

  • If the Block (Line Only) check box is selected, the Block check box is disabled and cleared.
