Tax Number Definitions (tctax4105m000)

Use this session to define the length and the format of tax numbers in a specific country.

If you validate tax numbers in the Verify Tax Numbers (tctax4205m000) session, LN uses the tax number definition to check whether the tax number has the required format and length.

Tax number format

To define the tax number format, you can use these characters:

  • Numeric characters 1 - 9 to represent numbers
  • Upper case alphabetic characters A - Z to represent letters
  • \ to indicate that the character in this position of the tax number must be exactly the character that follows the \.

Each character of the definition defines the type of character in its position in the tax number. \ plus the character that follows \ together represent a single position.

Example

Definition Example tax number Remarks
AAA9999999999 ASX2347759830 The length must be 13. The first three characters must be alphabetic and can be any letters. Remaining characters must be numeric.
