Periods (tcccp0170m000)

Use this session to maintain periods by period table.

With the Period Time Zone option on the appropriate menu you can switch from your time zone to the time zone that you specified in the Time Zone field in the Period Tables (tcccp0160m000) session. This is useful if your company is situated in the Asia time zone and the financial company is, for example, in the European time zone. If you want to make a new period set for Europe in Asia, the period must be recalculated to your time zone. With this new switching option, you can easily enter periods in a different time zone than your own system time zone.

Field Information

Period Table Code

The code that identifies the period table. The periods listed below are linked to this period table.

Year

The year for which the period data is defined.

Period Time Zone

The time zone to which the period table applies.

If you click Period Time Zone on the appropriate menu, you can switch to the time zones that you specified in the Time Zone field of the Period Tables (tcccp0160m000) session.

Period Number

The sequence number for the period. The sequence number is generated automatically.

Description

The description of this period.

Duration

The duration of the period table. This also indicates the time interval that each generated period covers.

The following table shows the values that you must enter to create time intervals of 1 month, 1 week (7 days), 2 weeks.

Period Number of period unit duration Periods
1 Month 1 month
1 Week 1 week (see note below)
- 7 day
2 Weeks 2 week
1 Quarter 3 month
- 13 week
Note: This value is defaulted from the Duration field in the Period Tables (tcccp0160m000) session.

A difference exists between the interval that is defined as 7 days and the interval defined as one week: the first week of the year may be short. For example, when 01 January falls on any day other than Monday.

Duration Type

The duration type of the period table.

Allowed values

Day(s)

The calendar lines are grouped by day; if there are several working hour types defined by day, this selection is usually used for shop floor control.

Week(s)

The calendar lines are grouped by week.

4 Weeks

The calendar lines are grouped by four weeks.

Month(s)

The calendar lines are grouped by month.

Quarter(s)

The calendar lines are grouped by quarter.

Half Year

The calendar lines are grouped by six months.

Year(s)

The calendar lines are grouped by one year.

Note: This value is defaulted from the Duration Type field in the Period Tables (tcccp0160m000) session.
Displayed in Time Zone

Indicates the current time zone in which the dates of the period are displayed.

Start Date

The Start Date and End Date fields delimit the period.

Note: Periods cannot overlap.

If the Calendar Year check box in the Period Tables (tcccp0160m000) session is selected, LN verifies that the start date is within the year that you specified in the Year field in the Generate Periods (tcccp0270m000) session.

There must be no gaps between periods. Each start date can be the end date of the previous period. LN subtracts one second from the end date to avoid an overlap between the periods.

Example

Period Start date End date
1 1999-01-01 00:00:00 1999-02-01 00:00:00
2 1999-02-01 00:00:00 1999-03-01 00:00:00

The effective end date and time of period 1 is 1999-01-31 23:59:59
