End User Statements and Declarations
An End User Statement (EUS) is used to obtain the information from sold-to business
partners about the usage of the item being sold. The EUS allows you to verify that an end user
is a reliable recipient, and the exported item(s) are used in accordance with specified
regulations, such as Export Administration Regulations (EAR) or International Traffic in Arms
Regulations (ITAR). An EUS is required by many governments to restrict the shipping of goods to
destinations that are not in accordance with the regulations.
An End User Declaration (EUD) is used to manage import (and domestic inbound) licenses for items being purchased. An EUD is required to identify the kind of items that can be purchased based on the End User Statements (EUS) that are export controlled.
