PLM Items

Items are revision-controlled objects that are intrinsic to the functional processes supported by PLM. You can link other items, documents, and folders as a reference to an item. Each item can be revision controlled using Check In and Check Out operations.

You can use the PLM Item (pdpdm1500m000) session to create items. The Item list grid displays all the items associated with the projects you are authorized to work on.

Note:
  • You can use the Where Used option to access the Where Used (pdpdm1501m100) session.
  • The xcad fields are customized and optional. The fields can be used to specify information about objects.
  • You can use the Send Draft Item to Production (Without Dialog) option to send an item to production directly, without performing the Check-in operation.

The possible item types include:

  • Product
  • Generic
  • Engineering Module

Operations

Item operations ensure that the items are revision controlled. Item revision control ensures that the correct item information is available to the user, and design changes are approved before the production phase. The check in, check out, status, and structure of an item functionality is included in the Item operation.

Item operations can be maintained and be published when the BillofResources BOD is Active.
