Creating a generation for intermittent save of objects

You can create an object generation for a PLM item using the Create Generation option. You can use the Intermittent Save option only if the status of the object is set to Draft.

  1. Access the PLM Item (pdpdm1600m000) session. The status of the PLM item must be set to be Draft.
    Note: To create intermittent save for documents and folders, you must use these sessions respectively:
    • Document (pdpdm2600m000) session
    • Folder (pdpdm3600m000) session
  2. Click New PLM Item option.
    Note: The values in these fields are populated:
    • The Change Mode field is set to Intermittent Save of Objects.
    • The status is set to Draft.
    • The Generation field is set to 1.
    • The Frozen field is set to No.
  3. Specify the required details.
  4. Click Save PLM Item.
  5. Select Actions > Intermittent Save > Freeze Generation.
    Note: 
    • The value of the Frozen field is set to Yes.
    • To modify the data, you must create a generation.
  6. Select Actions > Intermittent Save > Create Generation. The generation number increments by 1.
    Note: The value of the Frozen field is set to No.
  7. Update the required fields and links.
  8. Select Actions > Intermittent Save > Freeze Generation. The application freezes the changes for this Generation and a snapshot is taken. The value of the Frozen field is set to Yes.
