Advanced Import

Advanced import functionality enables you to import the object structure sent by a customer to your database. When you receive the data exported by the customer through email or other options, download the xml file along with the design documents. You must import the object data with design documents to the database. During the import process, the data in the XML file is validated. The database errors are generated for data that fails the validation process. For example, the value in the XML file has 10 characters, but the database supports only 6 characters, an error is displayed. You can refer to the errors and rectify in the XML file. The XML file is processed after all the database errors are rectified.

When the object data in the XML file is processed, you must view and approve the new object and links. The validation errors are generated for the object attributes. You must rectify the errors and commit the object data to the database.

The import process is performed to import a new object that is not present in your database or an existing object that is in the database, but with updated attribute values and properties.
