Activating item segmentation in PLM

To activate item segmentation in PLM:

  1. Click Item Segmentation in PLM in the Concept Activation (tcemm4600m100) session. The Concept Activation (tcemm4600m000) session is displayed.
Note: If this field is set to Active, the Project Item code (segment) is also displayed along with the Generic item code in the application.
  2. Click In Preparation. The status changes from Inactive to In Preparation for the associated companies.
  3. Click Validate Company for PLM Implementation. Infor LN checks if PLM is implemented for all the companies in the Companies (tcemm1170m000) session.
Note: a. When PLM companies are defined in different package combinations for a particular tenant, steps 1 to 5 of the activation process must be performed before step 6 (Revalidating Item Data).
  4. Click Validate Item Data. Infor LN verifies the item data in the PLM Items (pdpdm1500m000) session and validates if the length of an item key is greater than the length of the item part in item segment.
  5. Click Upgrade Item Data. The Initialize Data Upgrade Run (ttspt2200m0000) session is displayed. In this session you can initialize all the service pack transition libraries of PD package ready for data upgrade. Infor LN updates the key data of the items in all the required sessions with the help of due methods.
During this process, only the user performing the Concept Activation process is authorized to view the data. After the process is completed, the company can be accessed by all the users. In case an error occurs during the process, the company remains inaccessible to all users until the issue is resolved by the technical team.
Note: Due Method is a predefined method in Infor LN framework which helps to register and upgrade multiple tables concurrently.
  6. Click Revalidate Item Data to verify if all the above steps are complete.
  7. Click Activate. Infor LN registers the pdikey domain as segmented domain in the Items (tcibd0501m000) and Segmented Domains (ttgfd4122m000) sessions by copying the tcitem domain data.
After all the steps are performed, the segmented item data is displayed for all the Item fields across PLM application.
