Classification Tree

Each classification tree represents the structure according to which the data is organized.

Each category and subcategory must have attributes defined, that describe the associated properties. Each subcategory inherits the properties of the parent categories.

A classified object belongs to a specific group of objects with very specific attributes that distinguish this group from other groups.

For example, when engineers look for a bolt and a bearing, the properties they look for are different, because a bolt and a bearing have different functionality within the assembly.

Only leaf categories can have objects linked. A specific object (also termed as an Instance) is classified by associating it with a leaf category and assigning the specific values for its attributes.
