PLM Projects

Projects are the principal means of organizing tasks in PLM. The Administrator must determine the details of all projects that are to be managed by PLM.

All objects are associated with a particular project. However, users of other projects can also be authorized to access the object. This option makes it possible to maintain a set of standard drawings or item details, that are required across projects. Users can be authorized for more than one project with varying levels of authorizations. The Administrator can authorize users as Project Managers for specific projects.

The project attributes include the delegation setting for all user groups in the project. This determines the behavior of group tasks in all workflows within the project. The parameters, that determine the impact of check-in and check-out of linked objects, are defined for each project.

Design data such as documents and items are associated with specific projects, and users involved in the project are authorized as project users. Each user associated with a project is assigned a role and this Role controls the authorizations of the user for that Project.

PLM Projects are created using PLM Projects (pdadm3500m000) session.
