Plan (fmlbd0610m000)

Use this session to view and maintain load plans. Load plans are created in the Generate Plan (fmlbd0280m000) session or created manually in the current session.

You can add loads to a plan in the Loads (fmlbd4100m000) session.

The status of a load plan determines whether you can delete or modify a plan, and if you can modify, the allowed type of modification.

Field Information

Plan

The first free number of the load plan. This serves as the load plan identification.

Planning Algorithm

The planning algorithm used to create the selected load plan.

Planning Algorithm Binding

If this check box is selected, the planning engine only uses the selected planning algorithm. If this check box is cleared, the planning engine first uses the selected algorithm. If no plan can be created based on the selected algorithm, the planning engine uses the next algorithm. If this is unsuccessful, the engine uses the third algorithm.

The order in which the algorithms are used is:

  1. Pooling
  2. Consolidation
  3. Direct Shipping
Origin

The origin of the load plan.

Shipment Planned Dates

The Shipment Planned Dates Based On option used to calculate the loading and unloading dates of the plan. For more detailed information, refer to To use the planned date determiner options

Carrier/LSP Selection Criterion

The available carrier selection criteria are used to select the preferred combination of carrier, standard route, and route plan during load building or lead time calculation. If no route plans exist for particular addresses, only carriers and standard routes are selected. If no standard routes exist for particular addresses, only carriers and route plans are selected. If no standard routes and route plans exist for particular addresses, only carriers are selected.

Cheapest

For load building, the carrier and related route plan or standard route with the lowest rates is selected. For freight order clustering, the carrier with the lowest rates is selected. The rates are defined in the carrier rate books in Pricing . For further information, refer to Defining freight rate books and Freight rate retrieval.

If more than one carrier can offer the cheapest rates, the fastest carrier is chosen from these carriers. If more than one carrier can offer the cheapest rates and the shortest delivery times, from these the carrier that takes the shortest route is selected.

Fastest

For load building, the route plan or standard route and related carrier with the shortest travelling time is selected. LN checks the average speed of the transport means groups of the available carriers, the calendars of the addresses, and standard routes. For freight order clustering, the carrier with the shortest travelling time is selected. LN checks the average speed of the transport means groups of the available carriers.

If more than one carrier can offer the shortest delivery times and the cheapest rates, the carrier that takes the shortest route is selected from these carriers.

Shortest

LN searches the route plan and/or standard route with the shortest distance and then searches an available carrier.

If more than one carrier takes the shortest route, the cheapest carrier is selected from these carriers. If more than one carrier takes the shortest route and offers the cheapest rates, the carrier with the shortest delivery times is selected from these carriers.

Number of Loads

The number of loads of the current load plan.

Number of Shipments

The number of shipments of the current load plan.

Actual

If this check box is selected, the current load plan has received the Actual status. To give the Actual status to a load plan, select the load plan and on the Specific menu of the current session, select Make Actual.

Replanning Required

This check box is checked by Freight when the freight orders, on which the plan is based, have been changed.

Expired

If this check box is selected, the current load plan is expired. Expired load plans cannot be given the Actual status and cannot be processed further. Load plans that are not processed in Warehousing and load plans that are not Actual can be set to Expired. The expired status can be undone.

If this check box is cleared, the load plan is not Expired.

Text

If this check box is selected, text referring to the current plan is available.

Weight

The aggregated weight of the goods included in the load plan.

Volume

The aggregated volume of the goods included in the load plan.

Floor Space

The aggregated surface area of the goods included in the load plan.

Pieces

The aggregated piece unit quantity of the goods included in the load plan. Note that if different types of piece units are used without conversion factors between them for the loads of the plan, no piece units and no piece unit totals are shown.

Piece Unit

The piece unit for the load plan. Note that if the loads include items with different piece units without conversion factors between them, no piece units and no piece unit totals are shown.

Estimated Freight Cost

The aggregated estimated freight costs of the current plan. The currency is expressed by the currency defined for the current company.

Actual Freight Cost

The actual freight costs of the load plan. If invoicing is not based on a carrier invoice, the aggregated amount of the loads for which the estimated costs are set to Final. The currency is expressed by the currency defined for the current company.

Actual Cost Final

If invoicing is based on a carrier invoice, this check box is selected automatically when the invoice from the Carrier/LSP is matched and approved in Financials for all the loads of the current Plan. If invoicing is not based on a carrier invoice, this check box is automatically selected if for all loads of the current plan, the estimated costs are set to Final.

Calculate Additional Costs

If this check box is selected, the additional costs for the current plan are calculated.

User Name

The name of the user who created the current load plan.

Creation Date

The creation date of the current load plan.

FM Leading Load Plan

If this check box is selected, changes made by Warehousing to load plans created by Freight , are checked by Freight . For example, if Warehousing wants to move a shipment created by Freight to another load, Freight performs a check on:

  • The available capacity of the transport means group assigned to the load.
  • The transport type of the load.
  • The combination code of the load.

The combination code and the transport type of the shipment and the load must match. Also, the planning groups, shipping offices, and service levels of the order lines related to the shipment and the load must match.

If this check box is cleared, warehouse processing of the loads and shipments cannot be monitored in Freight .

Means of Transport in Multiple Plans

If this check box is selected, a Means of Transport can be scheduled tentatively for more than one Plan. When one of the plans is made Actual, the Means of Transport is scheduled definitely for the Actual plan.

The Means of Transport in Multiple Plans field is enabled if the plan is not expired and no loads are present yet, or a load is present which is Expected, Planned, or Actual. If the plan is expired or all loads for the plan are In Progress, Confirmed, Shipped, Completed, or Closed then this field is disabled.
