Assign Standard Route / Route Plan to Freight Order Lines (fmfoc2280m000)

Use this session to assign standard routes and route plans to freight order lines.

The purpose is to create load plans for the freight order lines with the assigned standard routes or route plans.

When the assignment process is run, a route plan or standard route is assigned to a freight order line if:

  • The status of the freight order line is Expected.
  • The ship-from and ship-to addresses of the related freight order header match the addresses of the standard route or route plan.

If you select a range of route plans or standard routes in the Generate Plan (fmlbd0280m000) session, a load plan is created for the freight order lines to which the selected route plans or standard routes are assigned.

To assign standard routes or route plans to freight order lines:

  1. In the Standard Route / Route Plan field, specify whether to assign standard routes or route plans to freight order lines.
  2. In the fields of the Selection Range group box, select the freight order lines to which to assign standard routes or route plans.
  3. Select additional assignment options and print options.
  4. Click Assign.

Check Carrier/TMG/TMC Availability

If this check box is selected, a standard route is assigned if the loading capacity of the carriers, transport means groups, or transport means combinations defined for the standard route is sufficient to transport the goods listed on the selected freight order lines.

Use Carrier/LSP Selection Criterion

The default Carrier/LSP Selection Criterion is defined in the Freight Planning Parameters (fmlbd0100m000) session. You can use the default Carrier/LSP Selection Criterion or select one of the available options.

Cheapest

For load building, the carrier and related route plan or standard route with the lowest rates is selected. For freight order clustering, the carrier with the lowest rates is selected. The rates are defined in the carrier rate books in Pricing . For further information, refer to Defining freight rate books and Freight rate retrieval.

If more than one carrier can offer the cheapest rates, the fastest carrier is chosen from these carriers. If more than one carrier can offer the cheapest rates and the shortest delivery times, from these the carrier that takes the shortest route is selected.

Fastest

For load building, the route plan or standard route and related carrier with the shortest travelling time is selected. LN checks the average speed of the transport means groups of the available carriers, the calendars of the addresses, and standard routes. For freight order clustering, the carrier with the shortest travelling time is selected. LN checks the average speed of the transport means groups of the available carriers.

If more than one carrier can offer the shortest delivery times and the cheapest rates, the carrier that takes the shortest route is selected from these carriers.

Shortest

LN searches the route plan and/or standard route with the shortest distance and then searches an available carrier.

If more than one carrier takes the shortest route, the cheapest carrier is selected from these carriers. If more than one carrier takes the shortest route and offers the cheapest rates, the carrier with the shortest delivery times is selected from these carriers.

Overwrite already assigned Standard Route / Route Plan

If this check box is selected, standard routes or route plans previously specified for freight order lines are overwritten by the standard routes or route plans assigned in the current process.

Print to predefined Device

If this check box is selected, LN selects the default device defined for the user profile to print the report.

Note: By default, this field is checked by LN.
Separator in Flat File

The preferred separator to be used in the flat file format report.

Carrier/LSP Selection Criterion

The preferred carrier selection option.

If this check box is selected, a report is printed displaying the standard routes or route plans assigned to the selected freight order lines.

Error Report

If this check box is selected, a report is printed displaying the errors that occurred in the standard route or route plan assignment process.
