Conversion Setups (Names) (ecedi5110m000)

Use this session to maintain conversion setups. You can create new conversion setups or you can use the Copy Conversion Tables (ecedi7200m000) session to copy an existing conversion setup and to modify it with this session.

Click Print on the toolbar to use the Print Conversion Setups (ecedi5410m000) session to print conversion setup-information.

Note: If you started this session by zooming, you can only find and select a record. A conversion-setup code that is not filled in must always contain the global overhead data. The other conversion-setup codes indicate various ways to process EDI messages.

Field Information

Organization

organization

EDI Message

supported EDI messages

Direction

The direction of the EDI message.

Field Type

The ASCII file format.

Note: A conversion setup can be created for files in which the fields areseparated by a field separator, or that have a fixed length.
Conversion Setup Code

The code that identifies the conversion setup. An overhead setup, called Global Overhead, is defined for each combination of the Organization, EDI message, Direction, and Field type. The overhead setup contains the header data of the EDI message. If you define an overhead setup, the Conversion Setup Code code remains empty. In addition, you can create various ways of reading or generating ASCII files, that can then be linked to a business partner and message. In this case, the Conversion Setup Code field must be filled in with a code.

Group Outgoing Messages

If this check box is selected, this conversion setup can be used to group outgoing messages under one overhead. If this check box is cleared, this conversion setup can only be used to generate one message per overhead.

Setup Text

If this check box is selected, text is associated to the conversion setup code.
