Compute Phase Numbers (cprpd6200m000)

Use this session to recompute the phase numbers of plan items and plan units.

Note:

You must recompute the phase numbers after changes in the bill of material (BOM).
If you select the Multicompany Updating check box and specify a multicompany scenario, the computation is performed for all the plan companies of that scenario.
The session also checks for cycles in bills of material or cycles in bills of critical materials. See Rules for defining plan units.

Field Information

Plan Level

The plan level of the plan items that are used as a starting point for the phase-number recomputation.

Phase No. Type

This field determines whether you recompute the phase numbers for master planning or order planning.

Step Size

The amount by which the phase number is increased when the computation procedure detects that the phase number is too low.

Default value

The default value is 5.

The computation of phase numbers is an iterative process. Initially, the phase numbers are set to zero. Then, the computation checks the plan items or plan units according to a certain procedure. Every time the computation detects a phase number which is too low, it increases the phase number by the step size.

Run Type

The run type defines whether the computation is carried out in a net change or in a regenerative fashion.

Plan Unit

You can only define a range of plan units, if you selected Master Phase Number in the Phase No. Type field.

Multicompany Updating

If this check box is selected, LN performs a multicompany phase-number update for the multicompany scenario that you specify in the Scenario field.

Scenario

The multicompany scenario of which the plan companies are taken into account for the recomputation of the phase numbers.

Allowed values

The scenario must be a multicompany scenario. A scenario is a multicompany scenario if the Central Multicompany Planning check box in the Scenarios (cprpd4100m000) session is selected.

LN carries out the phase number computation for the plan companies of the scenario.

Stop at first Loop

If this check box is selected, the recomputation stops once a loop is discovered in a bill of material (BOM) of the selected item.

Error Report

If this check box is selected, LN generates a report.

Standard Items Only

If this check box is selected, only the phase numbers of standard items are updated.
