Initialize, Roll, and Update Scenario (cprpd4200m000)

Use this session to carry out the following actions:

  • Initialize the scenario after changes in the plan period definition.
  • Roll the scenario.
  • Initialize the master plans for every new plan item.

Update Goods Flow Data

If this check box is selected, LN reads the goods flow data and the capacity utilization of orders from the execution level and aggregates this data in the aggregation relationships structure.

If this check box is cleared, the scenario retains the current goods flow data.

Note: If the session rolls the scenario, this check box will automatically be selected.

Generate Requirements

If this check box is selected, LN generates material requirements and capacity requirements. The capacity utilization is also updated.

LN generates these receipts and requirements on the basis of:

  • The production plan
  • The bill of critical material (BCM)
  • The bill of Critical Capacity (BCC)
Note: The receipts and requirements are only updated for the selected plan items.

For example, if the production of plan item A results in a material requirement for plan item L, and this session is run for plan items in the range A to K, the requirements for plan item L are not updated.

The receipts and requirements generation overwrites the existing requirements and receipts.

If this session rolls the scenario, this check box will automatically be selected.

Generate Item/Channel Master Plan

If this check box is selected, LN generates an item master plan for the selected plan items, and a channel master plan if you linked channels to the plan items in the Plan Item - Channels (cpdsp5100m000) session.

Note: 
  • If the item already has an item master plan, this will be updated. Even when the check box is cleared.
  • The session Initialize, Roll, and Update Scenario (cprpd4200m000) session is the only session that creates master plans.

A plan item does not need to have a master plan. A plan item can have a master plan if the Master Plan check box in the Items - Planning (cprpd1100m000) session is selected. However, you can postpone the initialization of this master plan.

Initialize Only for Items Without Existing Plan

If you selected the Generate Item/Channel Master Plan check box, you can select the Initialize Only for Items Without Existing Plan check box, if LN must only initialize the scenario that you selected for plan items that do not have an item master plan or a channel master plan yet.

The Initialize Only for Items Without Existing Plan check box is implemented for performance reasons.

Multicompany Updating

If this check box is selected, LN carries out a multicompany update. That means that LN updates each scenario in the multicompany structure of the specified scenario.

Note: You can only access this field if the scenario is a multicompany scenario.

Parallel Processing

If this check box is selected, parallel processing is used to roll plans or initialize the plan.

Generate Resource Master Plan

If this check box is selected, LN creates a capacity overview for the work centers you select.

You can view these capacity overviews in the Resource Master Plan (cprmp3501m000) session.

Note: It is recommended to only create capacity overviews for the most important work centers. These capacity overviews slow down the performance of your system.
