Copy Master Plan to Scenario (cprmp2203m000)

Use this session to copy the following data from one scenario to another:

  • The demand forecast and extra demand for a plan item, and (optional) for the channels linked to this item
  • A plan item's inventory plan
  • A plan item's production plan
  • A plan item's purchase plan

In addition to copying the various plan values, you can also modify these values by a certain percentage. For example, you can use this to analyze what happens if the demand is 10% higher and the inventory plan is 20% lower.

Note:  LN only takes those items into account for which the Master Plan check box is selected in the Items - Planning (cprpd1100m000) session.

To copy plan data between scenarios:

  1. A master plan must already exist in the target scenario for each plan item and plan period involved. You can check this in the Item Master Plan (cprmp2101m000) session. If the master plans do not exist yet, you must first create them in the Initialize, Roll, and Update Scenario (cprpd4200m000) session.
  2. Specify the source scenario.
  3. Specify the plan level of the items for which the plan data must be copied. You can only copy data for one plan level at a time.
  4. You can specify a planner (optional). If you do so, LN only considers items that belong to this planner.
  5. Select a range of plan items.
  6. You can specify a range of channels (optional). If you do not specify such a range, LN will not copy (demand plan) data for channels.
  7. Select a range of plan periods for which you want to copy plan data.
  8. Enter a percentage for each type of plan that you want to copy.
  9. Specify the target scenario.
  10. Select the update mode Overwrite or Add To.
  11. Optionally, select the Pro Rate check box.
  12. Click Copy.
Note: The source scenario and the target scenario do not need to have identical plan period definitions. If necessary, LN redistributes the source plan period quantities over the target plan periods.

Field Information

Scenario

The source scenario from which LN copies the specified master plan data.

Planner

The planner whose plan items are to be copied.

Specifying a planner is optional. If you do not specify a planner, the item's planner is not used as a constraint on the selection of plan items. If you do specify a planner, the selected plan items are only taken into account, if they belong to this specific planner.

From Plan Item

Specify the first of a range of plan items for which you want to copy the specified data of the item master plan to the target scenario.

To Plan Item

Specify the last of a range of plan items for which you want to copy the specified data of the item master plan to the target scenario.

From Channel

Specify the first of a range of channels that LN must use as a selection criterion.

If you do not specify a range of channels, LN does not copy data for channeled plan items.

From Period

Specify the first of a range of plan periods of which LN must copy master plan data to the target scenario.

If the plan period definitions of the source scenario and the target scenario are different, LN redistributes the quantities of the source scenario over the plan periods in the target scenario.

From Date

The start and end dates of the specified plan period.

Demand Plan

If this check box is selected, the entered percentage of the demand plan is copied from the source scenario.

Note: LN only copies demand forecast and extra demand; LN does not copy special demand.
Inventory Plan

If this check box is selected, the entered percentage of the inventory plan is copied from the source scenario.

Production Plan

If this check box is selected, the entered percentage of the production plan is copied from the source scenario.

Purchase Plan

If this check box is selected, the entered percentage of the purchase plan is copied from the source scenario.

Scenario

The target scenario to which LN copies the master plan data.

Note: Before you can copy the plan data, a master plan must already exist in the target scenario for each plan item and plan period involved. If this is not the case, you must first create such master plans in the Initialize, Roll, and Update Scenario (cprpd4200m000) session.
Update Mode

The update mode determines whether LN does one of the following:

  • Select Overwrite if LN must use the data from the source scenario to overwrite the existing data in the target scenario.
  • Select Add To if LN must add the source values to the existing values.
Pro Rate

If this check box is selected, LN copies the data in a proportionate fashion, based on the existing master-plan values in the target scenario.

Example

If you copy data from a master plan with four-weekly plan periods to a master plan with weekly plan periods, LN redistributes the copied quantities according to the existing master-plan values in the target scenario.

Suppose you copy the data of 4 periods from scenario A to Scenario B, and you set the Inventory Plan field to 80%. Scenario A has the following inventory plan:

Scenario A:
Period 1 2 3 4
Inv. Plan 30 40 10 20

This results in the following values in Scenario B. Depending on the setting of the Update Mode field, LN adds the copied inventory plan to the periods in Scenario B, or overwrites the original values.

Scenario B:
Period 1 2 3 4
Exist. Inv. Plan 28 7 21 14
(Copied) Inv. Plan 32 8 24 16
