Generate Demand and Inventory Plan (cpdsp1210m000)
Use this session to generate the demand forecast for items and item/channel combinations based on historical demand data, and to generate inventory plans for items.

The following sessions display the demand forecast and the extra demand:
- Item Master Plan (cprmp2101m000)
- Channel Master Plan (cpdsp5130m000)
- The Item Master Plan (cprmp2101m000) session also displays the inventory plan.
Demand forecast
Select the Generate Demand Plan check box to generate a demand forecast.
LN only generates a demand forecast for items for which the Automatic Update of Demand Forecast field in the Items - Planning (cprpd1100m000) session has the value Generate or Always Update.
If you selected the Dependent Demand Forecast check box in the Items - Planning (cprpd1100m000) session, LN also computes the demand forecast for requirements for manufactured or distributed items, based on their historical demand data.
If you select the Generate to Extra Demand check box, LN stores the demand forecast in the Extra Demand field of the item master plan or the channel master plan. If you clear the Generate to Extra Demand check box, LN stores the demand forecast in the Demand Forecast field.
Consumption of the forecast demand
After this session generates the forecast demand, the customer orders that are already present consume the demand forecast and extra demand in the same or nearby plan periods.
Inventory plan
Select the Generate Inventory Plan check box if LN must also generate an inventory plan.
LN does not generate inventory plans for channeled plan items.
LN only generates an inventory plan for items for which the Automatic Update of Inventory Plan field in the Items - Planning (cprpd1100m000) session has the value Generate or Always Update.
Projected inventory and ATP
For normal plan items LN updates the following fields in the master plan after calculating the demand forecast or the inventory plan:
- Projected inventory
- Available-to-promise
- Cumulative ATP
For channeled plan items LN updates the Cumulative ATP field in the Channel Master Plan (cpdsp5130m000) session.

The scenario for which LN generates demand forecast and inventory plans for the specified plan items.
- Channel

Specify the first of a range of channels for which LN must generate demand forecasts. If this field is blank, the demand forecast data from the Item Master Plan (cprmp2101m000) session is included in the range.

Specify the last of a range of channels for which LN must generate demand forecasts. If this field is blank, the demand forecast data is calculated in the Item Master Plan (cprmp2101m000) session and the channels are not included in the range.

Specify the first of a range of plan periods for which LN must calculate demand forecasts and inventory plans.

This field displays the start date of the first plan period in the range of plan periods for which you want to generate a demand plan and an inventory plan.

This field displays the end date of the last plan period in the range of plan periods for which you want to generate a demand plan and an inventory plan.

If this check box is selected, LN calculates a demand forecast for item master plans and channel master plans.
Note:- LN only generates a demand forecast for items for which the Automatic Update of Demand Forecast field in the Items - Planning (cprpd1100m000) session has the value Generate or Always Update.
- If the Generate to Extra Demand check box is selected, LN generates the demand forecast of all the specified plan items in the specified range to the Extra Demand field of the Item Master Plan (cprmp2101m000) session or the Channel Master Plan (cpdsp5130m000) session, instead of to the Demand Forecast field.
- Generate to Extra Demand

If this check box is selected, LN moves the calculated forecast to the Extra Demand field in the item master plan instead of to the Demand Forecast field.
- Generate Inventory Plan

If this check box is selected, LN generates an inventory plan for the normal plan items in the item master plan.
Note: LN only generates an inventory plan for normal plan items for which the Automatic Update of Inventory Plan field in the Items - Planning (cprpd1100m000) session has the value Generate or Always Update. - Calculate Forecast Settings

If this check box is selected, LN computes the optimal set of parameters and uses them to perform the demand forecast and the inventory plan.
Note: You can save the optimal set of parameters if you select the Automatic Update of Forecast Parameters check box in the Plan Items - Forecast Settings (cpdsp1110m000) session.If this check box is cleared, LN uses the parameters as you set them in the Plan Items - Forecast Settings (cpdsp1110m000) session to perform the demand forecast and the inventory plan.
