Converting Master Plan to Planned orders

This is especially helpful, if you manually entered plan quantities and want to retain these plan quantities within the order horizon, or if the order horizon is set to zero, for example, if you use workload control. If you select the Order Status to Firm-Planned check box, the generated orders are immediately set to Firm Planned, which prevents LN from removing these orders during a normal order planning run.

To convert a plan to planned orders:

  1. Specify a scenario and a plan level.
  2. Select a range of plan items.
  3. Select a range of planners. Of the selected item range, LN only takes the items assigned to these planners into account. If you do not want to constrain your item selection by selecting planners, set the planner range to maximum.
  4. Select the range of plan periods for which LN must convert the production plan and/or purchase plan to planned orders.
  5. Select the appropriate check boxes.
  6. Click Continue.

The Convert Master Plan to Planned Orders (cprmp2240m000) session is multicompany enabled. This means that you can use the Move in Multicompany check box and define a range of plan companies in the From field and the To field that LN takes into account to support multicompany relations in planning.

Note:
  • For each planned order that is generated, LN uses the end date of the originating plan period as the requirement date.
  • If you define more than one supplier, LN splits purchase plan quantities over multiple suppliers in the usual way.
  • Lot sizing rules are taken into account. As a result, the plan quantities and the generated order quantities do not always match exactly. If for one plan period the total order quantity exceeds the original plan quantity, LN reduces the order quantity for the next plan period accordingly.

You do not need to convert production plan quantities and purchase plan quantities to planned orders before LN can transfer them to the execution level. In the Transfer Order Planning (cppat1210m000) session, you can also directly transfer production plans and purchase plans.

Note:  LN only moves purchase plans to planned orders, and not to purchase schedule quantities. See also Purchase schedules and Enterprise Planning.
