Integration of Freight Management with Enterprise Planning

Freight is integrated with Enterprise Planning, which means that you can indirectly control the freight movements of a company from Enterprise Planning.

The integration provides Enterprise Planning with the functionality to link the creation of planned distribution orders to the generation of freight orders in Freight.

You can enable Freight to create freight orders during an MRP run, that is, when you carry out the Generate Order Planning (cprrp1210m000) session, or afterwards in a batch session. Choose for the last option to execute a fast MRP run, because enabling Freight to generate freight orders during an MRP run costs a considerable amount of system performance.

To create freight orders during an MRP run

To enable the creation of freight orders during an MRP run, select the Generate Freight Order during MRP Run check box in the Planning Parameters (cprpd0100m000) session and the Generate Freight Order check box in the Supplying Relationships (cprpd7130m000) session. After you carry out the MRP run, the order number of the generated freight order appears in the Planned Order (cprrp1600m000) session in the order line of the planned distribution order that Enterprise Planning created during the MRP run.

To create freight orders after an MRP run

To generate freight orders after an MRP run, clear the Generate Freight Order during MRP Run check box in the Planning Parameters (cprpd0100m000) session. After you carry out the MRP run, generate the freight orders in the Generate Freight Orders (fmfoc1234m000) session. You can see the result as a freight order number in the order line of the corresponding planned distribution order in the Planned Order (cprrp1600m000) session.

The status of the freight orders that Freight creates for the corresponding planned distribution order have the order status Expected.

Note: The integration of Freight with Enterprise Planning is not supported for warehouse or item transfers across logistic companies.
