Applying latest permissions in net change mode

Only those fields that are relevant for applying the permissions, triggers an entry in the Changed Documents (tcsec5600m000) session. This process minimizes the number of documents in the session to enhance the performance.

  1. Select Master Data > Items. The Items (tcibd0501m000) session is displayed.
  2. Select the item from the list.
  3. Select the Classification tab. You can modify the required field such as Product Line, Product Type, Product Class, and so on. The modified data is displayed on the Items tab, in the Changed Documents (tcsec5600m000) session.
    Note:
    • You can only modify the fields that are listed in the Permission for field in the Item Permissions (tcsec3635m000) session.
    • When you modify a document more than once, still only one entry of this document is created in the Changed Documents (tcsec5600m000) session.
  4. Start the Apply Latest Permissions (tcsec3200m000) session.
  5. Select the Apply only New and Changed Documents check box and click Apply. The permissions are applied to the new or modified documents.
    Note:
    • When using the Net Change functionality, the job is scheduled to run frequently, the duration can be less than 10 minutes.
    • The retention period must be longer than the job interval, as documents can be removed before they are processed.
    • Net Change only applies to modifications in documents. If there is a change in the setup of permissions or a change in the link between employees/users and permissions, then a full run is required to be executed.
