Predefined configuration data

Predefined export definitions, configuration objects, and configuration object sets for specific functionality are released on a regular basis.

Currently, the APP-IV-A and APP-IV-B export definitions are available. These export definitions are predefined and contain 218 configuration object sets, respectively, which in turn jointly contain 1060 standard configuration objects.

The configuration objects provide a basic setup of these packages:

  • Common
  • Financials
  • Invoicing
  • Order Management
  • Warehousing
  • Manufacturing
  • Project
  • Quality

The predefined order in which configuration objects within a configuration object set are imported or exported respects the LN referential integrity. Within the predefined, standard export definition, the order of the configuration object sets respects the same referential integrity. See General points of interest for details.

For some configuration objects, referential integrity rules require that some database table fields are cleared initially. When this occurs, it is reported in the import report.

You can use the APP-IV-A and APP-IV-B export definitions to provide data for new, empty environments, and environments that already contain data. Both export definitions are also available to exchange data between tenants in the cloud through the Cloud Suite Portal.

For the current release, the application content is supplied in two standard export definitions, APP-IV-A and APP-IV-B. These two export definitions fully replace the previously released ones.

Because inter-company relationships exist, especially when initializing a target environment with master data from a source, you must complete the APP-IV-A imports for all companies before processing the APP-IV-B content. In subsequent releases, the application content will also be supplied in APP-IV-A and APP-IV-B standard export definitions, and the APP-IV-A definition must be completed before the APP-IV-B definition.
