Closing the Import File

Use the Close Import File session to close the import file. Execute these steps:

  1. Open a new batch with the transaction type defined in the import parameters (Supplier invoice type).
  2. Add 0 value invoice to the supplier for allocating costs to inventory.
  3. Use the Add Cost option in invoice entry to reverse all the import costs one by one.
  4. Match total import costs with purchase order by using the match invoice with purchase order option on supplier invoice option.
  5. Approve the invoice created. This function creates inventory variances for the warehouse receipts of the import. If processing inventory variance is selected using the Process inventory variance automatically option for each item in item warehouse parameters, the inventory variance is processed automatically, else you must execute Inventory Variances (whina1516m000) session to run inventory variance in order to allocate cost to the inventory. The variance transactions are posted to finance as integration transaction in LN standard, by using the mapping scheme definitions.
