To close service orders

You can close a service order in the Close Service Orders (tssoc2201m000) session. In this session, you can set the status of the order, the related activity lines, and the related cost lines to Closed. The service order and related lines can be posted to history or can be deleted.

Note: To post the service-order data to history, you must select the Service Order History check box in the Service Order Parameters (tssoc0100m000) session.

If you select the Delete Service Order check box, the specified range of orders is also removed from the Service Orders (tssoc2100m000) session.

Only orders that have a Costed or Canceled status can be processed. If these orders and related lines are posted to history, the following history sessions are updated:

  • Service Order History (tssoc8551m000)
  • Service Order Activities History (tssoc8552m000)
  • Service Order Material Cost History (tssoc8555m000)
  • Service Order Labor Cost History (tssoc8556m000)
  • Service Order Other Cost History (tssoc8557m000)

If you close an order, LN performs the following checks:

  1. The order must not be blocked.
  2. All order cost lines must have the Posted to Finance status.
  3. If tools are required to carry out the order, all tools must be returned. The tool requirements must have been deleted from the Estimated Tool Requirements (titrp0111m000) session.

If one of these conditions is not met, the order will not be closed and will not be posted to history.

The Order Closure Control functionality is used when Infor LN is integrated with Infor Factory Track. This functionality allows you to manage and restrict the closure of specific orders, when required. This ensures that the orders remain open until all related processes are completed. For example, if labor hours are not yet uploaded in LN, the order must remain open until that step is completed.

When an order or activity line is blocked for closure, the system ensures that the order is not closed or signed off (in the case of a work order activity). If such an order is closed, the system generates an error message explaining the reason for the block.

Note: This error message is generated only if the Factory Track check box is selected in the Implemented Software Components (tccom0500m000) session.
