Inventory tracking for quarantined handling units

If handling units are used in quarantine, a disposition line can refer to multiple handling units or a part of a handling unit. The latter is the case if a handling unit contains high volume lot items or high-volume serialized items. Specifying and processing dispositions is done through the entire quarantine ID or the handling units linked to the quarantine ID.

You cannot handle individual disposition lines, because a disposition line can be related to a part of a handling unit. Specifying dispositions or processing a part of a handling unit (that is, a part of the item quantity contained in a handling unit) is not allowed.

To specify a disposition for a part of a handling unit, first remove the handling unit and then specify dispositions and process the quantities without handling units.

Handling units are removed in the Quarantine Inventory Overview (whwmd2171m000) or the Quarantine Inventory (whwmd2671m000) session.

The reference to a handling unit is displayed in the Handling Unit field of the quarantine ITU receipt detail lines of a quarantine ITU receipt.

The handling unit displayed in a receipt detail line is an individual handling unit or a bottom-level handling unit of a handling unit structure.

The Handling Unit field is blank if the disposition line is linked to a top-level handling unit of a handling unit structure or to multiple handling units of the same level.

Example

Handling units HU01, HU02, and HU03 are present for Quarantine ID 100011. HU01 is the top-level handling unit, and handling units HU02 and HU03 are the bottom-level handling units in the structure. Handling units HU02 and HU03 each have a quantity of 10.

These handling units correspond with disposition line 100011/10, which has a quantity of 20.

Because HU01 is the top-level handling unit of a handling unit structure, HU01 is not displayed in the quarantine ITU receipt details related to disposition line 100011/10.

If HU03 is given disposition Scrap, a new disposition line, 100011/20, is created with quantity 10 = Scrap.

HU03 is displayed in the quarantine ITU receipt details of the quarantine ITU receipt related to disposition line 100011/20.

The old disposition line, 100011/10, still has Awaiting Disposition, but now with a quantity of 10.

If you reset HU01, handling units HU02 and HU03 obtain disposition Awaiting Disposition again. Consequently, both disposition lines would obtain disposition Awaiting Disposition.

Because both disposition lines would have identical dispositions and stock point details, these lines are consolidated into one disposition line, thus re-establishing the previous situation.

If the handling units HU01, HU02, and HU03 would not be part of a handling unit structure, no handling unit is displayed in the Handling Unit field of the quarantine ITU receipt detail lines related to disposition line 100011/10.
