Processing quarantine dispositions and inventory tracking data

The procedure to process a disposition and consume the quarantine ITUs to move the inventory out of quarantine includes these steps:
  1. Launch disposition process
  2. Select ITU receipt details for consumption
  3. Create disposition order
  4. Create consumption record
  5. Launch disposition order
  6. Consume inventory from quarantine ITUs

After launching the disposition process, steps 2 – 4 are performed automatically.

Step 5, launching the disposition order process, is performed manually or automatically. This depends on the type of disposition order. The type of disposition order is, in turn, determined by the type of disposition that you selected.

Step 6, the consumption of the inventory from the quarantine ITUs, is performed when the disposition order is completed.

Launch disposition process

After specifying dispositions, you can process an entire quarantine ID, multiple disposition lines, or individual disposition lines. See How to handle quarantine IDs and disposition lines for details.

If handling units are used, you can process an entire quarantine ID or multiple handling units that are part of a quarantine ID. See Handling units in quarantine inventory for details.

Error message

This message may be displayed after clicking Process in the Quarantine Inventory Disposition (whwmd2172m000) session or the lines section of the Quarantine Inventory (whwmd2671m000) session:

Cannot process the quarantine inventory; the Disposition Quantity in Inventory Tracking Receipt Details does not match.

This means that one or more unprocessed receipt ITU detail lines are present whose total quantity exceeds the quantities of the disposition lines that you are processing.

For example, if you process a disposition line with disposition Scrap and item X qty 10, and in the ITU receipts 15 unprocessed items X are present for the same disposition, quarantine ID, and stock point.

Select ITU receipt details for consumption

When processing a disposition line, ITU receipt detail lines that match these criteria of the disposition line are selected for consumption:

  • Quarantine ID
  • Disposition
  • Stock point details
  • Disposition unprocessed

Receipt detail lines with matching criteria can be present in multiple quarantine ITUs.
