Quarantine dispositions and inventory tracking

The dispositions specified for disposition lines are updated to the corresponding quarantine ITU receipts. Also, the dispositions and the disposition quantities must be assigned to the countries of origin in the detail lines of the quarantine ITU receipts.

The dispositions, disposition quantities, and countries of origin of quarantine ITU receipts are displayed in theInventory Tracking Quarantine Receipt Details (tcitu2115m120) session. This session is presented as the Details tab of the Quarantine Inventory (tcitu1620m000) session.

To start the Quarantine Inventory (tcitu1620m000) session:

  1. Click Country of Origin on the References menu of the Quarantine Inventory Disposition (whwmd2172m000) session or the lines section of the Quarantine Inventory (whwmd2671m000) session.
  2. In the Quarantine Inventory (tcitu1120m000) session, click Details.

Updating the dispositions and assigning the disposition quantities to the countries of origin is done automatically or manually.

A disposition is automatically updated to the corresponding quarantine ITU receipts in these cases:

  • One or more countries of origin are present for a disposition line, and a disposition is specified for the entire disposition line.

For example, disposition Return to Vendor is specified for disposition line 1 with 100 items X, lot A. 40 Items X have country of origin Canada and 60 items X have country of origin Denmark.

  • One country of origin is present for a disposition line, and the disposition line is split multiple times to specify multiple dispositions. The new dispositions are automatically updated to the quarantine ITU receipts.

For example, disposition line 2, with 100 items B and country of origin Japan is split twice to specify 30 items B Scrap, 30 items B Return to Vendor, and 40 items B Use As Is.

  • The disposition of a disposition line is changed, but the quantities are unaffected.

For example, the disposition in the first example is changed from Return to Vendor to Use As Is.

The user must manually specify the dispositions and disposition quantities by country of origin for each quarantine ITU receipt in all of these cases:

  • More than one country of origin is involved.
  • The disposition line is split once or more than once.
  • Different dispositions are specified for the split-off disposition lines.

Disposition line 1 has 100 items X, lot A. 40 Items X have country of origin Canada and 60 items X have country of origin Denmark.

Disposition line 1 is split:

  • Line 1, 70 items X, lot A, disposition Awaiting Disposition
  • Line 2 30 items X, lot A, disposition Return to Vendor

In the Details tab of the Quarantine Inventory (tcitu1620m000) session, the user specifies 20 items X, lot A, disposition Return to Vendor for country of origin Canada, and 10 items X, lot A, disposition Return to Vendor for country of origin Denmark.

This results in these quarantine ITU receipt detail lines:

  • 20 items X, lot A, disposition Return to Vendor for country of origin Canada
  • 20 items X, lot A, disposition Awaiting Disposition for country of origin Canada
  • 10 items X, lot A, disposition Return to Vendor for country of origin Denmark
  • 50 items X, lot A, disposition Awaiting Disposition for country of origin Denmark

After specifying the disposition quantities for disposition Return to Vendor for Canada and Denmark, the awaiting quantities for disposition Awaiting Disposition are set automatically.

See Handling quarantine dispositions and inventory tracking data for step-by-step instructions for manually updating a disposition to the receipt detail lines of a quarantine ITU receipt.
