System Parameters (plaps0121m000)
Use this session to view and maintain the system parameters of the Planner+ package. These parameters can have an effect on specific function or the overall operation of the system.
Field Information
- Introduction Date
- The date and time when the Planning Engine parameter is last modified.
- Scenario
-
The code of the scenario.
Note: Parameters must be configured according to the specific operational scenario in which they are applied.
This approach ensures that each parameter setting meets the specific requirements and objectives of the scenario. Aligning parameters with these requirements optimizes system performance and ensures compliance.
- Description
- A brief description of the scenario.
- Allow Changing Actual Plan
-
If this check box is selected, the application allows changes to the actual plan.
When this parameter is enabled, you can:
- Accept the recommendations.
- Modify the user priorities on released manufacturing orders.
- Modify the due completion date of the released manufacturing orders.
Note: These changes require customization in the integration to return updated values to LN. - Allow Resource Overlap
-
If this check box is selected, the planned order steps are overlapped with release order steps.
Note:- If this check box is cleared, you can insert planned order steps between two released order steps when the duration of the planned steps is less than or equal to the available time on the resource.
- The available time is the capacity value between the two released steps.
- CO Line Due Date Selection
-
The due date of the customer order line.
Allowed values
- Committed date
- Requested date
- Planning Horizon
-
The time period during which the planning data is considered.
Note:
- By default, this value is set to 31536000 seconds (1 year).
- The start date or time for the planning horizon is based on the last update of the on-hand inventory from ERP to Planner.
- Frozen Date Time
-
The date prior to which firm planned or no planned orders can be inserted in a finite capacity plan.
Note: Only the Released or Confirmed orders are allowed before this date. You can change this date for any specific resource.
- Frozen Time Fence
-
The time period during which Planned or Firm Planned orders cannot be added in a finite capacity plan.
Note: This field value is added to the Last On-hand Inventory date and can be changed for any specific resource.
- Move Time Respect Calendar
-
If this check box is selected, the planner plans transfer time on operations against the resource calendar.
Note:- If no resource is assigned to the operation or the resource has no calendar, the planner uses:
- The default site production calendar for manufacturing operations.
- The default site purchase/warehouse calendar for purchasing and distribution operations
- If no site calendar exists, the planner assumes 24/7 availability.
- Move time for an operation linked to a process step of Transportation type is not planned against a calendar.
- If no resource is assigned to the operation or the resource has no calendar, the planner uses:
- Respect Queue Time
-
If this check box is selected, the queue time is considered in planning.
Note:- If this check box is cleared, planner ignores the queue time, and the operation starts immediately after the preceding operation finishes.
- If no resource is assigned or the resource has no calendar, the planner uses the default site calendar.
- If site calendar is not specified, the planner assumes 24/7 availability.
- PO Consider Safety Time
-
The safety time to consider in the purchasing process when importing released purchase orders from an ERP system.
Allowed values
- Always
- The safety time on the purchasing process is always considered.
- Changed Delivery Dates Not Set
- The safety time on the purchasing process is considered only if the Changed Delivery Date field on the Supply Order (plaps3601m000) session is not specified.
- Confirmed & Changed Deliv Dates Not Set
- The safety time on the purchasing process is considered only if the Changed Delivery Date and Confirmed Delivery Date fields on the Supply Order (plaps3601m000) session are not specified.
- Released Supply Order Default Priority
-
The priority of released orders.
Note: The value must be between 1 and 9.
- Safety Stock Use
-
The consideration of the safety stock items in the overall calculation of the inventory plan.
Allowed values
- Ignore Safety Stock
- The value of the safety stock is not considered.
- Enforce Safety Stock
- The value of the safety stock is used as the minimum value, even if the value of the inventory plan is smaller.
- Add to Inventory plan
-
The value of the safety stock is added to the value of the inventory plan.
Note: This value can be changed for any specific item.
- Safety Time Substitution
-
If this check box is selected, the planning engine considers the item safety time when planning substitution orders.
- Transfer Time Respect Calendar
-
If this check box is selected, the planner schedules transfer times for operations based on the resource calendar.
- Use Days Calculation
-
If this check box is selected, the planner schedules the transfer times for operations based on days.
Note: If you set this parameter and the lead time unit is set to days, the planner schedules the operation in the first available period within the specified working days. - Currency
- The code of the currency.
- DP Respect Planning Buffer
-
If this check box is selected, the dynamic planning engine considers the planning buffers.
The dynamic planning engine schedules a supply transaction at least the length of the planning buffer before the demand transaction.
Note:- The time between two consecutive operations in a supply order must be at least the length of the planning buffer.
- When lateness is identified, dynamic engine uses the planning buffer.
- If the resource has no calendar, the planner uses the default production calendar of the site.
- If site calendar is not specified, the planner assumes 24/7 availability.
- Insert Planned Orders before Released Orders
-
If this check box is selected, the planned orders are inserted before released orders.
- Skip Low Level Code Calculation
-
If this check box is selected, the requirement engine skips the calculation phase that recalculates item low-level codes. This parameter reduces the engine run time.
- Action Use Target Inv Enabled WTF
-
If this check box is selected, the requirements engine uses safety stock when supply within the firming time fence is less than the new demand.
- Action Use Target Inv Enabled OTF
-
If this check box is selected, the requirements engine uses safety stock when supply outside the firming time fence is less than the new demand.
- Default Max Acceptable Lateness
- Default Max Acceptable Lateness
- PAE_WIPValueFactor
- The proportion of an item's standard cost included when evaluating Work in Process (WIP).
- Action SO New Enabled WTF
-
If this check box is selected, the Requirement Engine generates a recommendation to create a released, confirmed, or firm planned supply order within the firming time fence when supply is less than the new demand.
- Action SO New Enabled OTF
-
If this check box is selected, the Requirement Engine generates a recommendation to create a released, confirmed, or firm planned supply order outside the firming time fence when supply is less than the new demand.
