Serials/Serialized Items
Serials or Serialized Items can be used throughout Mobile Service. A serialized item is a combination of an item and a serial number.
If you select an item from an item drop-down list, only the serial numbers of the selected item are available in the serial number drop-down list. If you leave the item blank, the serial number drop-down list contains all serial numbers that are available in Mobile Service. This way you can find a serial if you do not know the item.
If you have authorization to create new serial numbers in Mobile Service, (the Create Serials check box must be selected in the Service User Templates (tsmdm1660m000) session) a icon or button behind the serial number drop-down list is shown. Use this option to create a new serialized item.
Whenever a serialized item is underlined in Mobile Service you can click or tap the serialized item to open the Serialized Item details screen.
The following functionality is only available when Mobile Service integrates with LN CE:
You can edit serialized item data by clicking the Edit icon (Windows) or tapping the button (Android/iOS) in the Serialized Item details screen. The Edit Serialized Item screen is displayed.
The following fields can be changed in this screen:
- Owner
- In Use By Business Partner
- Delivery Time
- Installation Time
- Location Address
When a serialized item is specified for an activity or material line the Serialized Item details screen can also be opened by selecting the Serialized Item option from the bottom bar (Windows) or from the context menu (Android/iOS) of the selected activity or material line.
