Global search path for updating the indicative item value

The search path determines how the application searches and updates the indicative item value for different item types. You can search prices in a defined priority order, for each item type based on:

  • CPR – Cost Price
  • TP – Project Price
  • PUR – Purchase Price
  • SLS – Sales Price

For each Item type, the application follows this predefined priority sequence:

The application searches for the price at these two levels in this sequence:

  1. Item level
  2. Item by Site level

Item Level

The application considers the search path at the item level in this sequence.

Cost Price (CPR) Level
The application considers the search path in this sequence:
  1. Current company
  2. Shared Logistic and Financial companies or both
  3. Item (tcibd0501m100) session, the estimated cost is retrieved from the:
    • Item costing data for the base enterprise unit if the Standard Costs at Level field is set to Enterprise Unit.
    • Company level item costing data if the Standard Costs at Level field is set to Company.
Purchase Price (TP) Level
The application considers the search path in this sequence:
  1. Current company
  2. Shared companies
  3. For Item type Subcontracted Service:
    • If project is specified, search is performed in project subcontracting
    • Else, search in subcontracting data
  4. For Item of the type Product, unit cost is retrieved from the item project data.
Purchase (PUR) Level
The application considers the search path in this order:
  • Current company.
  • Shared companies.
  • Purchase price from item purchase data is retrieved.
Sales (SLS) Level
The application considers the search path in this order:
  • Current company.
  • Shared companies.
  • Sales price from item sales data is retrieved.

Item by Site Level

The application considers the search path at the item by site level in this sequence.

Cost Price (CPR) Level
The application considers the search path in this order:
  • Current company
  • If the Standard Costs at Level field is set to Item (tcibd0501m100) session:
    • Enterprise unit from the site is retrieved. Else, the site value from the warehouse is considered.
    • Estimated cost for the identified enterprise unit is retrieved.
  • If the Standard Costs at Level field is set to Company in the Item (tcibd0501m100) session, company level estimated cost is retrieved.
  • A search in the shared companies is performed.
Project Price (TP) Level
The application considers the search path is this sequence:
  • Current company
  • Shared companies
  • For Item of the type Subcontracted Service:
    • If project is specified, search is performed in Project Subcontracting (tppdm6113s000) session.
    • Else the search is performed in subcontracting data.
  • For Item type Product, unit cost from item project data is retrieved.

Purchase (PUR) Level

The application considers the search path is this sequence:

  1. Item purchase by site
  2. Item purchase data

Sales (SLS) Level

Search is performed for sales price in item sales data

Note: Sales prices are defined at sales office level and cannot be used directly.

Updating the Indicative Item Value

If a valid price is found and Simulate check box is cleared in the Update Indicative Item Value (tcibd0201m200) session:

  • The Indicative item value is updated.
  • The currency is set to the reference currency.
  • The Modification date is set to the current date.
  • The Based on Default field is set to Yes.
