Alternative Package Definitions by Business Partner (whwmd4136m000)

Use this session to view and maintain the package definitions that can be used as an alternative for the standard package definition, for a business partner and item combination.

An alternative package definition is used when the packaging structure differs from the standard packaging structure. For example, an alternative package definition is required if the alternative packaging item has different dimensions or a different capacity, as a result, the number of packaging items on a pallet changes.

This session is displayed only if the Alternative Packaging on Business Partner Level check box is selected in the Warehouse Master Data Parameters (whwmd0100s000) session.
You can also access this session using the Alternative Package Definitions option from the References menu in the Alternative Packaging by Business Partner (whwmd4635m000) session.

Field Information

Business Partner: The code of the business partner for whom the alternative package definition is set up.
Item: The code of the item. The package definition is linked to the item.
Package Definition: The code of the standard package definition.
Note: You can select the package definition with the Package Definition Type set to Variable in Package Definitions (whwmd4110m000) session.
Alternative Package Definition: The code of the package definition that can be used as an alternative for the standard package definition, for the business partner and item combination.
Note: You can select the package definition with the Package Definition Type set to Variable in Package Definitions (whwmd4110m000) session.
Priority: A priority number that is assigned to the alternative package definition. A low number signifies a high priority, a high number signifies a low priority. The priority determines the sequence in which the alternatives are displayed when a packaging definition is selected.
Active: If this check box is selected, the alternative package definition is set to active.
