Job Shop Scheduler versus Scheduler Plus
Job Shop Scheduler is an entry-level finite-capacity scheduler for production orders. It schedules operations against machines and uses the machine type on the operation to select an available machine.
Use Scheduler Plus when requirements exceed the capabilities of Job Shop Scheduler, such as:
- The need to schedule other resources (tools and/or labor) in addition to machines
- The need to schedule already released or active orders.
- The need to schedule batched operations (Synchronous Batching)
- The need to schedule overlapping production orders or operations (transfer lots)
- The need for sequence-dependent setup optimization with changeover matrices
- The need for multi-objective optimization with configurable weights
- The need for constraint analysis and schedule quality metrics
Note: Customers using Job Shop Scheduler can upgrade to Scheduler Plus. Scheduler Plus is an add-on module available in Infor LN and may require a commercial component.
This table summarizes the key differences between Job Shop Scheduler and Scheduler Plus.
