Redlining Workbench (Adaptive UI)

The Redlining Workbench (Adaptive UI) workbench enables users to propose changes to items in a controlled manner using ECO or MCO. Proposed changes are clearly highlighted through visual indicators, including color-coding and the display of previous and updated values, along with the corresponding actions (Insert, Modify, Replace, or Delete). After approval, the system applies the changes to the proposed revision for an ECO or to the latest released revision for an MCO.

The workbench provides a consolidated view of the selected Business Process, including its basic information, related toolbar actions, affected items, and detailed redlining capabilities. It enables users to review, manage, and modify business process–related data in a controlled manner.

Toolbar

The toolbar provides quick access to commonly used actions:
  • Refresh: Refreshes the current user interface.
  • References: The references menu contains these two options:
    • Business Process: Opens the Business Process (pdwfl1600m000) session.
    • Tasks: Opens the My Tasks (pdwfl1524m000) session

Affected items

This section displays the list of all items attached to the selected business process.

These options are displayed in this section:

  • Maximize button: Expands the tab to occupy the entire middle section of the workbench.
  • Start Redlining: Initiates redlining for the selected item.

Columns

The data grid displays few attributes of the item attached to the business process. Additionally, these columns are displayed:
  • Lock Type: Indicates how the specific item has been locked by the business process.
  • Proposed Revision: Represents the new revision number proposed by the user. You can also add the values here.

Affected item related tabs

This section lists the links pertaining to the Affected Item tab:

  • BOM: You can view the BOM lines of the selected item in the affected item’s grid. Also, you can perform redlining to the BOM data. You can view or modify the reference designators for the selected BOM line. The Revisions Filter contains these options:
    • All
    • Effective
  • Document: Displays documents linked to the selected item. Also, you can perform redlining to the Document data. The data-grid displays attributes of the document link and the kind of redlining change is done to the selected item-document link. The Revisions Filter contains these options:
    • All
    • Effective
    • Latest Created
    • Latest Released
    • Work in Progress
    • Current Released
  • Manufacturer Tab: Displays manufacturers linked to the selected item. Also, you can perform redlining on manufacturer links. The data grid displays the kind of redlining change is done to the selected item-manufacturer link.
  • Item Details Tab: Displays attribute details of the selected item. Also, you can perform redlining on item attributes. The data grid displays the kind of redlining change is done to the selected item.

Error message

This section displays the list of error messages logged by the application during different operations. This data is used for troubleshooting of application errors.
