Structure (Adaptive UI) Workbench Overview

The Structure (Adaptive UI) (pdpdm8101m300) workbench can be used to view and manage the structure of an item, document, or folder, along with the related information. You can view object structures, navigate relationships, and access related data such as documents, manufacturers, and business processes.
  • This workbench can be accessed using the Structure (Adaptive UI) option from the References menu in these sessions:
    • PLM Items (pdpdm1500m000)
    • Documents (pdpdm2500m000)
    • Folders (pdpdm3500m000)
  • The application dynamically updates the workbench title and the data based on the session from which the workbench is accessed.
Note: This session can be accessed only if the Show Workbenches with Adaptive UI check box is selected in the My PLM Preferences (pdadm0102m100) session.

The workbench consists of three sections:

  • Header section
  • Data section
  • Message section

Header section

In this section, you can specify the values based on which the data related to the object (Item/Document/Folder) is displayed in the Data section. The information includes:

  • Item/Document/Folder: The code of the selected object.
  • Revision: The revision number of the selected object. You can select the required revision number to view the object structure.
  • Date Selection Type: You can select one of these options based on which the object structure is displayed:
    • Effective From Date: Displays the Tree Structure based on the Effective from date of the selected object revision.
    • Specified Date: Displays the Tree Structure of the selected object revision based on a user-specified date.
      Note: The specified date must be between the Effective From and the Effective To dates of the selected object.

You can also use these options to select how the data must be displayed in the Data section:

  • Layout toggle: Use this option view the Data section in a single or split view.
  • CAD Viewer: Select this check box to enable the CAD Viewer tab in the Data section. When selected, the system generates and displays a CAD representation for the selected object.

Data section

In this section, you can view the data related to the object (Item/Document/Folder), based on the values specified in the Header section. The data is segregated into multiple tabs. These two layouts are available to view the data in this section:

  • Single Layout (default): Displays all tabs in a single pane, undivided area and tabs displays relationships related to the selected object.
  • Split Layout: The tabs are split into two panes:
    • Left panel: Displays the tree structure of the object (Item/Document/Folder).
    • Right panel: Displays all the remaining tabs wherein you can view the data related to the object selected from the tree structure in the Left panel.

Based on the session from which the workbench is accessed, you can view the corresponding data in the tree structure tab:

  • If the workbench is accessed from the PLM Items (pdpdm1500m000) session, the BOM (Tree) tab is displayed in the Data section of the workbench wherein you can view all attributes of the component within the item structure. You can view these indicators on this tab:
    • BOM Lines: Indicates whether the item has associated BOM lines.
    • Documents: Indicates whether the item has related documents or drawings.
    • Manufacturers: Indicates whether the item has related manufacturer information.
    • Pending Changes: Indicates whether the item is currently undergoing a business process.
  • If the workbench is accessed from the Documents (pdpdm2500m000) session, the Document tab (tree structure) is displayed in the Data section of the workbench wherein you can view all attributes of child documents within the Document structure. You can view these indicators on this tab:
    • Child documents
    • Items
    • Files
    • Folders
  • If the workbench is accessed from the Folders (pdpdm3500m000) session, the Folder tab (tree structure) is displayed in the Data section of the workbench wherein you can view all attributes of folders within the Folder structure. You can view these indicators on this tab:
    • Child folders
    • Items
    • Documents

Message section

In this section, you can view the application error messages generated during operations. These messages are primarily used for troubleshooting.
