if the relationship is a horizontal line with the name located above, then the diagram should be read from left to right. If the name is located underneath, then the diagram should be read from right to left.
if the relationship is a vertical line with the name located on the left, then the diagram should be read from top to bottom. If the name is on the right, then the diagram is read from the bottom up.
