Using rental quotes

  1. Create a rental quote for a sold-to business partner in the Rental Quote (tsepp1600m300) session.
    Note: 
    • You can also generate a rental quote in these sessions:
      • From a call using the Transfer to Rental > Quote option from the Actions menu in the Call (tsclm1100m000) session.
      • For an equipment rental request using the Create Rental Quote option from the Actions menu in the Equipment Rental Request (tssoc5645m000) session.
    • If the rental quote is generated from a call, you can rent out items of the type, Rental Product only.
  2. Create rental quote agreements to specify rentable serialized equipment or rental templates in the Rental Quote Agreements (tsepp1110m300) session. If you specify a rental template, rental quote cost lines are created based on the rental template.
  3. Create rental quote cost lines of the type, Equipment, Materials, Service Costs, and Labor, as required in the Rental Quote Cost Lines (tsepp1120m300) session.
  4. Select the Print Rental Quote Documents option from the Actions menu in the Rental Quote (tsepp1600m300) session. The Print Rental Quote Documents (tsepp1400m100) session is displayed.
  5. Print the rental quote with the Print What field set to External Document. The rental quote and the selected cost lines are printed on the quote documents.
  6. Select the Accept option from the Actions menu in the Rental Quote (tsepp1600m300) session after the sold-to business partner accepts the rental quote. The status of the rental quote is set to Accepted.
  7. Select the Process option from the Actions menu in the Rental Quote (tsepp1600m300) session. A rental order is created for the quote based on the default number series and the data specified for the accepted rental quote. The status of the rental quote is set to Processed.
  8. Select the Related Orders option from the Actions menu in the Rental Quote (tsepp1600m300) session. The Related Orders (tsmdm4500m000) session is displayed. You can select the Go to Details option for the rental order to access the Rental Order (tssoc2600m300) session.
    The rental quote agreements linked to the rental quote are processed as rental agreements in the Rental Agreements (tssoc2110m200)session. The quote cost lines are processed as cost lines and are linked to the rental agreements. For more information, see Processing rental agreements.
