Rental equipment
To use a serialized item as a rental equipment, you must:
- Create an equipment in the Equipment (tppdm0512m000) or the Project Equipment (tppdm6512m000) session. The item of the type, Equipment is generated in the Item (tcibd0501m100) session.
- Set the Configuration Controlled field to Serialized for the equipment in the Item - Service (tsmdm2600m000) session.
- Select the Rentable check box for a serialized item in the Serialized Items (tscfg2100m000) session.
- Specify these addresses for the linked rental equipment in the Extern tab, in the Rental Agreement (tssoc2610m300) session:
- The starting address in the Ship-from Address field.
- The destination address in the Location Address field.
- Select the Track GPS Location check box in the Serialized Items (tscfg2100m000) session.
- Specify the time units for Rental in the General Service Parameters (tsmdm0100m000) session.
- Define a service type with the Order Procedure field set to Rental in the Service Types (tsmdm0130m000) session.
- Specify this information in the Service Order Parameters (tssoc0100m000) session:
- The Service Type for Rental. The service type is used for the service order header, service order activity, reference activity, and serialized item.
- The Number Group for Rental Equipment Service Orders and Number Group for Equipment Rental Requests.
- The Series for Equipment Rental Requests and the Step Size for Equipment Rental Requests.
- Select the Rental check box corresponding to the Use Installments for: field to enable invoicing by installment for the equipment.
- Specify the number group and series for rental orders and rental agreements in these sessions:
- Service Order Parameters (tssoc0100m000)
- Service Offices (tsmdm1100m100)
- Service User Profiles (tsmdm1150m000)
- Define units in the Rental section on the Units tab in the General Service Parameters (tsmdm0100m000) session.
- Define the default rental terms for the serialized item group in the Rental Equipment Terms Template (tscfg0111m000) session.
- Define the rental operation cost rate for an item, service item group, or serialized item group in the Rental Operation Costs Rates (tsmdm0120m000) session. You can also specify the rental operation cost rate by rental office in this session.
