Holdback invoicing
Holdback, or retention is a condition, which states that a portion of the invoice is held back until the work is complete. The holdback amount is paid after the project activities are performed satisfactorily. Holdback can be used with every invoice method. Holdback can also be used for extensions (that is, changes in project scope that fall outside the initial contract with the business partner and are separately invoiced). You cannot use a holdback for advance payment requests and fees and penalties.
The application allows you to approve and release a holdback partially. The holdback amount that is to be released to invoicing can be specified. The remaining holdback amount is displayed. You can also cancel the remaining holdback.
