Using variation requests for scope documents
- Create a variation request for an active scope document using the Initiate Variation Request option in the Scope Document (tpctm6600m000) session. A variation request is created using the default number series in the Scope Document Variation Request (tpctm6600m400) session.
- Create a variation request line using the New option in the Scope Document Variation Request (tpctm6600m400) session.
Note: The scope document lines linked to the original scope document are defaulted as variation request lines.
- Modify the quantity, amount, or rate of the variation request lines, as required, in the Scope Document Variation Request Line (tpctm6601m200) session. For more information, see Variation Types.
- Approve the variation request using the Approve option in the Scope Document Variation Request (tpctm6600m400) session. The status of the scope document is set to Approved.
- Process the approved variation request using the Process option in the Scope Document Variation Request (tpctm6600m400) session. The modified and newly created variation request lines are processed to the related scope document. The variation quantity, rate, or amount are displayed on the scope document lines.
Note: If the Process Variation Requests Automatically check box is selected in the Contract Parameters (tpctm0100m000) session, the variation request is processed automatically when you approve the request.
- Access the Application for Payment (tpppc6630m000) session. The processed variation request lines are linked to the related AFP.
- Submit the AFP using the Set Status to > Submitted option from the Actions menu in the Application for Payment (tpppc6630m000) session.
- Certify the AFP. For more information, see Certifying Application for Payment.
- Create an installment for the AFP. For more information, see Creating Installment for AFP.
Note: If the Final Application For Payment check box is cleared for the AFP in the Application for Payment (tpppc6630m000) session, a new AFP is generated. You can create variation requests to modify the scope of work, if required.
