Variation types

You can use a variation request to:
  • Add a new scope document line.
  • Modify the quantity, amount, sales rate, or capped amount of an existing scope document line.
When you modify these values on a variation request line, the status of the related variation request and variation request lines are set to Modified. The modifications are categorized into three variation types:
  • Omission

    The amount or quantity of the variation request line is less than the original value specified on the related scope document line.

  • Addition

    The amount or quantity of the variation request line is more the original value specified on the related scope document line.

  • Rate Change

    The sales rate of the variation request line is less or more than the original value specified on the related scope document line.

Omission

You can modify the sales amount, quantity, or sales rate of a variation request line if the Line Type field is set to Amount Only or Quantity and Rate in the Scope Document Variation Request Line (tpctm6601m200) session. If you specify a value that is less than the original value specified on the related scope document line, the Variation Type field is set to Omission.

If the Line Type field is set to Amount Only:
  • The variation amount must be greater than or equal to the value specified in the Applied Amount field in the Cumulative (Applied) section of the Application for Payment Lines (tpppc6131m000) session.
  • The application generates a line in the Scope Document Line Variations (tpctm6104m000) session with the Variation Type field set to Omission. The net difference between the original scope line amount and the new scope line amount is displayed in the Variation Amount field.

Example:

If a scope line has an amount of 500 euros and 300 euros has already been certified in AFPs, the variation amount must be greater than 300 euros. If the new scope line amount is 400 euros, the net difference of 100 euros is displayed as the Variation Amount in the Scope Document Line Variations (tpctm6104m000) session.

If the Line Type field is set to Quantity and Rate, you can specify:
  • A variation quantity that is greater than the value specified in the Applied Quantity field in the Cumulative (Applied) section in the Application for Payment Lines (tpppc6131m000) session. OR
  • A new sales price that is applied for the remaining quantity. You can modify the effective date of the new sales price in the Effective Rate Date field in the Scope Document Variation Request Line (tpctm6601m200) session.

Addition

You can modify the sales amount, quantity, or sales price of a variation request line if the Line Type field is set to Amount Only or Quantity and Rate in the Scope Document Variation Request Line (tpctm6601m200) session. If you specify a value that is higher than the original value specified on the related scope document line, the Variation Type field is set to Addition.
Note: There is no upper limit for the values in variation request lines of the type, Addition.
In the Scope Document Variation Request Line (tpctm6601m200) session, if the Line Type field is set to:
  • Amount Only
    • You can increase the sales amount and cost amount of the scope document line.
    • A new scope document is generated in the Scope Document Lines (tpctm6101m000) session for the net difference between the original scope document line amount and the new scope document line amount.
  • Quantity and Rate
    • You can increase the quantity and sales price or unit cost of a scope document line.
    • A new scope document is generated in the Scope Document Lines (tpctm6101m000) session for the net values of the scope document lines.
