Overview of the inventory tracking consumption process
When an outbound order line is created, the inventory tracking consumption parameter settings and the quantities to be consumed are copied to the Order Line (tcitu3100m000) session.
At this stage, actual inventory tracking consumptions are not yet created. You can access the Order Line (tcitu3100m000) session from the corresponding sales order lines, warehouse order lines, and inbound advice.
The actual inventory consumption is created by selecting the inventory tracking unit from which to consume the items. The item quantities to be consumed are based on the applicable processes, such as outbound advice or negative inventory adjustments.
You can access the actual consumptions from the corresponding outbound advice and shipment lines.
In the outbound process, inventory tracking unit selection for consumption is performed when the outbound advice is released.
For direct deliveries, this is performed when the direct delivery purchase order is received.
Inventory tracking unit selection for consumption is performed automatically if one inventory tracking unit is available for consumption. For example, if the available inventory has only one country of origin.
If multiple inventory tracking units are present, for example, if the available inventory has multiple countries of origin, manual selection is required.
The inventory tracking consumption records display the quantity to be consumed (which is not yet issued), the consumed quantity, and the related inventory details such as lots, serials, handling units. Also, the reference to the inventory tracking unit is provided.
