Introduction
Inventory Tracking is a module in LN that provides the global trade concept Country of Origin with the functionality needed to track inventory throughout inbound and outbound inventory movements.
Currently, only the global trade concept Country of Origin uses the inventory tracking functionality. See the User Guide for Country of Origin for further information.
In future releases of LN, more global trade concepts will use the inventory tracking functionality.
To track inventory throughout the inbound and outbound movements, LN creates inventory tracking units that contain the country of origin, the receipt data, and the received quantities of an item.
The inventory tracking unit is created when the inventory is put away in inventory, with or without inbound inspections before being put away.
When an item is issued, an inventory tracking consumption record is created that contains the data of the inventory tracking unit of the issued item. The inventory tracking consumption updates the inventory tracking unit with the consumed, that is, issued quantities.
