Country of origin
- Comply with trade regulations and quality control
- Understanding the journey of the product in the supply chain
The COO of an item must be registered at the inventory level as this is required for various industries to purchase the components of an item from multiple countries. For example, while purchasing an engine for a car, multiple parts in the engine are procured from other countries. When receiving these items, the COO of these purchased items must be maintained. This allows you to report an accurate quantity of the items and value of the parts that are purchased from the countries other than the country of assembly.
You can use the Item - Country of Origin Inventory (tcitu6600m000) session to view the inventory that is available for an item with the COO. You can also filter the inventory by warehouse or site.
To maintain countries of origin and related item quantities throughout inbound and outbound inventory movements, the inventory tracking functionality is used. For details, see the User Guide for Inventory Tracking.
